This too, my friend, shall pass. The darkness shall not prevail.

It is in times of darkness that you need friends, both for consoliation and for more mundane tasks. Through your blog (which has been a great inspiration for me) I have learned that you have quite a network of in-real life friends, probably many more than you think. Let it be known that you need their help and help shall come.

My best hopes, wishes and prayers for you and your family.

Boy, do I hate the darkness!! I've felt neck deep in it for years now, but someone once told me the most beautiful flowers wouldn't be half as gorgeous if it wasn't for the dung heap they lived in--quite a paradox. I felt like chewing him a new hole in the head at the time, but I'm starting to understand what he meant. We humans are oddballs that way. I wouldn't know love if I hadn't known hate...strange.

Still...darkness of any variety, ugh. You and all the wethers will be in my prayers.

If I may add another comment...

"It is always darkest before the dawn."

You have made many friends by telling your adventures, many on this side of the web you may never meet due to work or family schedules but look forward to your posts every Monday. Family is first. Just Prayed for peace and better times ahead your family.

I found your blog a few months back and I admire everything you write about. You have the most wonderful adventures! I can only hope I have some that are half as interesting to write about. I never thought to comment because I didn't think anyone would care.

Whatever is happening, I've been praying for you and your family.

What are we praying for?

It's a trifle unkind making such a cryptic post when you have a whole army of fans who read your blog.

I do hope that you are all OK but it all seems a bit show business...

It is a horrible irony that in the voyeuristic internet that we all know (and love) that there are still some times that the curtains should be drawn shut.

The troubles that plague Merriwether today require herculean patience and effort from him. He wants to do the best job possible and thats not possible for the blog at the moment.

For now, our thoughts, prayers, and other karmic energies go more to Misseswether in the hopes that she finds healing ... or at the least solace. In some ways this is more her story than Merriwether's, and he is right to give her the privacy she needs as this chapter of her life unfolds.

Merriwether is a durable fellow, which has served him well in all manner of adventures both blogged and unblogged. Those of you who enjoy his blog will be sure to see him back shortly with some fresh perspectives.

I just wish those perspectives did not come at such a high price, figuratively speaking.

Thanks Clark, you said it better than I could have.

When a friend asks you to pray, you pray first and ask questions later, if ever.
